Education
Get licensed, upgrade your qualifications, or sharpen your skills — the club teaches several courses each year.
Basic Amateur Radio Course
Our flagship course prepares you for the Industry Canada Basic Qualification exam. With a Basic certificate you can operate on all amateur bands above 30 MHz, and (with a Basic with Honours grade of 80% or higher) on all HF bands as well.
Classes are run by experienced club members, typically over several evenings. The next session is announced on the calendar and in the news. Email ve5rara@gmail.com to register your interest — we run courses based on demand.
Advanced & Beyond
Already Basic-qualified? The Advanced Qualification opens up higher transmitter power, the ability to sponsor others, and the right to build and modify your own transmitting equipment. We run Advanced study sessions on request — reach out if you'd like to organize one.
